Tennessee Tech's School of Art, Craft & Design to host 29th annual Bacchanal
The School of Art, Craft and Design at Tennessee Tech University will present the 29th annual Bacchanal on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Spankies Restaurant in Cookeville.
All proceeds from Bacchanal support scholarships for students in the School of Art, Craft and Design degree programs. Since its inception, the event has awarded more than $150,000 in student scholarships.
Bacchanal features a live auction of art and fine craft donated by local and national artists and collectors. Guests may bid on a diverse array of pieces, including blown-glass sculptures, handcrafted wood furniture, sterling silver jewelry and large-scale paintings. Many of the works are created by local artists as well as Tech alumni, students, artists-in-residence and faculty.
Attendees will enjoy a buffet prepared by Spankies Restaurant, along with fine wines and craft beers provided by Empire Distributors of Tennessee and Tri Star Beverages of Cookeville. A jazz combo featuring Tech School of Music students will provide live entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Advanced tickets are available for $65. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $75 while seats remain available. The live auction begins at 2 p.m.
Guests must present a photo ID to receive a wristband for beer and wine service.
