Tennessee Tech University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus on Saturday, Oct. 10, for Preview Day, the university's signature fall open house event.

The free event gives students an opportunity to experience campus life firsthand while exploring academic programs, touring residence halls, meeting current students and learning about scholarships and financial aid opportunities.

Preview Day attendees will also have the opportunity to complete an on-the-spot application for admission to Tech and receive a waived application fee, a $25 savings. Guests will additionally receive a code for half-price tickets to Tennessee Tech's football game later that afternoon in the newly renovated Tucker Stadium

"The best way to know whether a university is the right fit is to experience it for yourself," said Jacob Cutshall, director of admissions at Tech. "Preview Day gives students and their families the opportunity to explore our campus, meet the people who make Tech special and get a firsthand look at the academic and student life opportunities available here. This year, we're especially excited to give visitors a taste of the game day experience in our new stadium. It is a day not to be missed for any student thinking about calling Tech home."

Preview Day activities kick off with check-in at 8:30 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room. Guests can enjoy coffee, music and donuts on Centennial Plaza before the Tennessee Tech Drumline and Spirit Squad welcome visitors at 8:45 a.m.

Throughout the morning, attendees can explore several opportunities to learn about life at Tech. A departmental fair on Centennial Plaza will run from check-in through noon and feature representatives from offices including First-Generation Student Success, the Center for Global Experiences, Intercultural Affairs, Student Engagement, Greek Life, the Volpe Library, the Accessible Education Center and more.

From 9 a.m. to noon, students can attend the Academic Discovery Fair on the main quad, where they will meet faculty and staff representing Tech's more than 265 programs of study and learn more about majors and career pathways.

A Student Organizations and Clubs Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the Roaden University Center lawn, giving visitors an opportunity to learn about Tech's more than 280 student organizations and discover how Golden Eagles connect with others while pursuing their interests outside the classroom.

Visitors will also be able to tour academic buildings and laboratories, explore residence halls and receive guided campus tours led by current students. A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The day’s formal programming will conclude with a tailgate from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. before attendees can enjoy the optional half-price tickets to the Golden Eagles’ matchup with Furman University.

Earlier this year, Tennessee Tech was named to U.S. News & World Report's Best National Universities list for the 12th consecutive year and was ranked the No. 1 public university in Tennessee by Money.com.

The university also continues to expand its academic offerings. Recent additions include bachelor's degree programs in nuclear engineering and artificial intelligence, while a new Bachelor of Architecture degree will launch in fall 2027.

Students attending Preview Day can learn more about Tech's Presidential Scholars program, which offers guaranteed scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 per year for eligible students who apply for fall 2027 admission by Dec. 15.
