Thinking green is in Emily Hunter s blood, and March 24 she will speak about her experiences making environmental documentaries and blogging about the movement.

The Toronto-based activist is the daughter of Robert Hunter, the first president of Greenpeace, and her mother, Bobbi Hunter, was the first woman to save a whale by blocking a harpoonist.

For a decade, Emily Hunter has worked with different environmental movements, documenting their campaigns by hosting and producing documentaries and other media. She has created four TV-documentaries for MTV News Canada; published the book, The Next Eco-Warriors, a book about 22 activists and their projects; and gave a TEDx talk.

Her latest focus is on activists who use technology, including drones and other digital tools, in environmental causes.

Hunter s talk will be at 7 p.m. in Derryberry Hall Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

The event is sponsored by Center Stage, which is made possible by Tennessee Tech s general education fund.

Derryberry Hall is at 1 William L. Jones Drive, Cookeville.
