Public Notice of Proposed Tuition and Mandatory Fee Increase
Pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated Section 49-7-1603, Tennessee Tech’s Board of Trustees is providing notice of the proposed tuition and mandatory fee increase as an action item on the Board’s Thursday, June 25, 2026, agenda.
- Proposed tuition and mandatory fee increase for academic year 2026-2027:
- Undergraduate maintenance proposed fee increase of 4.30%
- Part-time rate proposed to increase from $367 per hour to $383 per hour.
- Flat rate proposed to increase from $5,235 for students taking 12 or more hours per semester to $5,460 for students taking 12 or more hours per semester.
- Graduate maintenance proposed fee increase of 4.30%
- Base 10 hours proposed to increase from $577 per hour to $602 per hour.
- Over base hours proposed to increase from $118 per hour to $122 per hour.
- Program Service Fee proposed fee increase of $110 per semester.
- Program Service Fee proposed to increase from $728 per semester to $838 per semester.
- Transportation fee component is proposed to be $100 per semester.
- SGA SOLO component is proposed to increase from $30 per semester to $40 per semester.
- Program Service Fee proposed to increase from $728 per semester to $838 per semester.

- Revenue derived from the tuition and mandatory fee increase will be used:

- Tennessee Tech University makes every effort to mitigate the effect of the increase
on students:
- Tennessee Tech's undergraduate and graduate maintenance is comparable to other public universities in Tennessee.
- The proposed 5.62% increase in undergraduate maintenance and mandatory fees is within THEC’s approved range for Tennessee Tech University.
- Cost containments through regular budget reviews and reductions where possible.
