Quantum Discovery Day

Dr. Muhammad Ismail is a PI in the NSF EQUIS award (ExLENT program, award # 2322594) that creates a consortium of five universities, led by Tennessee Tech University, to promote education and research in quantum information science in Southeast U.S. As part of this effort, Dr. Ismail is teaching an introductory course on fundamentals and applications of quantum information science in secure networking, computing, and AI. This effort will train 100+ (undergrad and MS) students in Southeast U.S. in the aforementioned topics and engage them in summer research internships between 2025 – 2027.

In Nov. 2024, CEROC organized, as part of the EQUIS award, a Quantum Discovery Day at Tennessee Tech that attracted fifty students, where he announced the EQUIS course and internship program.
