Jere Whitson Freedom School 2020
Sponsored by the
College of Education
We regret to announce that due to the current pandemic, the 2020 Jere Whitson Freedom School has been cancelled.
Although we won’t be able to deliver Freedom School materials, instruction, or activities this summer, the Tennessee Tech College of Education is committed to the children of the Jere Whitson community and is making plans for alternative delivery of books to the children and their families in the coming months.
Any funds donated for the operation of this year’s Freedom School will be carried
over to support the 2021 program. We remain committed to the Freedom School model
for giving every child a healthy start, a head start, a fair start, a safe start,
and a moral start in life, and we appreciate our partners in this endeavor.
