Chemists work in a diversity of fields such as medicinal, biochemical, biotech, nuclear, environmental, pharmaceutical, forensic, agricultural, organic, polymer and scientific writing. Tennessee Tech graduates with chemistry degrees are found all over the world. A student in any chemistry concentration may attain certification by the American Chemical Society as determined by the chemistry faculty. This program allows for the creation of a program of study outside of the fixed alternatives above. With the aid of the advisor, you can design a curriculum that fits your career goals in fields like geochemistry, chemistry education, food science, astrochemistry, cosmetic chemistry, polymer chemistry and more. This curriculum is rigorous, yet flexible, which allows students to explore interests outside of our other concentrations.
