Degree Details

The Geosciences degree with a concentration in Geology prepares students for professional licensure and careers in the energy, environmental and critical minerals industries, as well as in museum and collections curation. The program provides a strong foundation across core geological disciplines such as climate change, depletion of sand, soils, and other terrestrial resources, hydrology and groundwater contamination, fracking and other oil/gas/coal exploration, geographic patterns in land use, geospatial analyses and remote sensing. Students gain valuable experience through field trips, independent research projects and direct engagement with real-world geologic problems.
