Tennessee Tech University is recognizing National Transfer Student Week, held Oct. 19–23, by announcing expanded transfer scholarship opportunities beginning with the upcoming spring semester and a waived application fee for domestic undergraduate transfer students all week long.

Tech is enhancing its Flight to Tech Transfer Scholarship, guaranteed three-year scholarships for incoming transfer students, to provide a $3,000 annual scholarship to any new transfer student with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Transfer students with a GPA of 3.25 to 3.49 can automatically qualify for $2,000 annually, while transfer students with a GPA of 3.0 to 3.24 are eligible for a $1,000 annual scholarship. Students seeking admission for the spring 2027 semester must apply by Dec. 15, 2026, for scholarship eligibility.

Additionally, domestic undergraduate transfer students can apply to Tech all week long and receive a waived application fee, a $25 savings.

"Transfer students are such an important part of our community here at Tennessee Tech, and we want to make their path to enrollment as simple and straightforward as possible. That's why the university is investing more money in more scholarships for more students," said Morgan Holcomb, transfer specialist in Tech's Office of Admissions.

Holcomb noted that while many prospective students associate college enrollment with the start of the fall semester, Tech welcomes a sizable cohort of both first-time freshmen and transfer students each spring.

"We have students who begin their Tennessee Tech experience every spring and quickly become engaged, successful members of our campus community," she said. "There is no one right time to start your college journey. Whenever students are ready to take that next step, we want them to know there is a place for them here as Golden Eagles."

A 2023 Tech graduate who first came to the university as a transfer student herself, Holcomb said helping students navigate the transfer process remains a top priority for the Office of Admissions.

"We have a dedicated transfer team that works one-on-one with students to answer questions, review transcripts and help them understand how their previous coursework will apply to their degree program," Holcomb added.

The enhanced support for transfer students comes as Tech was recently named to U.S. News & World Report's Best National Universities list for the 12th consecutive year. Earlier this year, Tech was also ranked as the No. 1 public university in Tennessee by Money.com.

The university also continues to expand its academic offerings. Recent additions include bachelor's degree programs in nuclear engineering and artificial intelligence, while a new Bachelor of Architecture degree will launch in fall 2027.
