Featured Research Project
Quantum Cookeville–Crossville Regional Testbed
Tennessee Tech has been awarded $2.1 million from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to establish a regional testbed for entanglement-based quantum communications between Cookeville and Crossville, Tennessee.
The Quantum Cookeville-Crossville testbed project will develop specialized infrastructure for generating, distributing and measuring entangled photons across geographically separated locations. Designed to support research and technical validation under real-world conditions, the testbed will expand opportunities to investigate quantum network performance, reliability and secure communications.

Research Across Disciplines
Tennessee Tech's quantum research activities connect faculty and researchers with expertise in computer science, cybersecurity, communications, advanced computing and related engineering fields.
This interdisciplinary approach supports research that spans theoretical and computational investigation, networking protocols, specialized instrumentation and the development of experimental systems.
