Global Ambassadors

Global Ambassadors (GA’s) are a select group of Tennessee Tech students, both international and American, who serve as the Center for Global Experiences (CGE) international student welcome and leadership team. Global Ambassadors connect with students before they arrive on campus, welcome them in their first few days on campus, and provide an important touchpoint for new undergraduates through their first few months at Tennessee Tech University. They also help shape programming that encourages relationship building and elevates the success of internationalization efforts on campus.

Global Ambassadors Requirements

  • Must be a full time TTU student in good academic standing
  • Must have good communication skills and be a patient listener
  • Must be welcoming, friendly, and excited about intercultural opportunities
  • Must commit to the position for one academic year
  • Must attend CGE training and events

Global Ambassadors Expectations 

  • Attend training during the summer (online)
  • Connect with students before they arrive on campus, answering questions and refer them to the appropriate resources
  • Connect students to clubs and organizations on campus
  • Participate in at least 3 events with your mentee during orientation
  • Help mentee get acclimated to TTU and Cookeville upon arrival
  • Work with other GA’s to plan engaging events each semester
  • Attend and work at CGE events

Global Ambassadors Benefits

  • Receive an official letter of recommendation from CGE upon successful completion of the program
  • Earn a Certificate of Service upon successful completion of the program
