What GEAR Up Does
Program Objectives
Provide academic support to help students achieve higher grades in core subjects such as math, science, and English.
Increase the number of students passing standardized tests such as ACT, SAT, or state-mandated assessments.

Serve Students and Families
GEAR Up at Tech aims to serve thousands of students in four (4) counties of Tennessee's Upper Cumberland region, including Clay, Overton, Oneida, and Warren.
Mentorship
Students will be provided with a college mentor available for in-person and online interactions. A support system offered through mentorship will be provided while students become college ready, assisting them by strengthening the tools to be career ready.
Career Experiences
Students will be given the opportunity to explore various careers through job-shadowing, internships, and apprenticeships.
