Coming Fall 2021!
Changes to HOPE Lottery rules and requirements
Beginning Fall 2021, the state has made changes to the following rules and requirements for recipients of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship. As a student you will be responsible for knowing and understanding these changes.
· Course Program of Study (CPoS):
The Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship will only pay for courses within your program of study; however, all attempted hours will count when reaching Lottery GPA benchmarks and most other eligibility requirements.
· Terminating events - 8 full time semesters / 120 attempted hours:
These “terminating events” are no longer considered when receiving HOPE Lottery funds. Students may now receive payments beyond 8 full time semesters and/or 120 credit hours. However, do keep in mind that you can only receive HOPE Lottery payments up to 5 years from initial enrollment!
****Please note: These changes are not in effect until Fall 2021- so anyone receiving HOPE Lottery funds for Summer 2021 will fall within the current guidelines.
HOPE Lottery Scholarship
The HOPE Scholarship is established and funded from the net proceeds of the state
lottery and awarded to entering freshmen who are enrolled at an eligible postsecondary
institution within sixteen (16) months after graduating from a TN eligible high school.
