English as a Second Language

Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in English as a Second Language (ESL) gives students a strong foundation of educational skills and strategies, coupled with the broad knowledge needed to teach at the elementary, middle and high school levels. In addition, the ESL program includes required curricular content in a foreign language such as Spanish, French or German. Students in licensure programs also engage in extensive clinical experiences in public schools for hands-on training, professional collaboration, and classroom management. This program is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
