- Environmental engineering associate professor Alfred Kalyanapu and his former student Nowfel Bhuyian (who is currently working as a hydraulic engineer at the West Tennessee River Basin Authority) just published a paper in the Remote Sensing open-access journal. The article, titled "Predicting Channel Conveyance and Characterizing Planform Using River Bathymetry via Satellite Image Compilation (RiBaSIC) Algorithm for DEM-Based Hydrodynamic Modeling," focused on work funded by the USDA-NIFA, with the Tennessee Tech portion managed by the Water Center and led by Dr. Kalyanapu.
