Costs, Grants and Payment Options

Tennessee Tech’s dual enrollment program is designed to be affordable, especially when you use available grants and discounts. Review the options below to understand how your courses can be funded and how to pay any remaining balance.

TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant

The TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant is provided by the State of Tennessee and is available to Tennessee residents, regardless of income level.

  • The grant covers the first five dual enrollment courses at a rate of up to $200.55 per credit hour.
  • For the sixth through tenth courses, you may still use TSAC funds (up to $100 per credit hour) without reducing your future HOPE Scholarship amount.
  • You must submit the TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant application each year by the state’s deadline in order to use the grant for fall, spring and summer terms.
  • If you miss the application deadline, you will not be able to use the TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant for that year and will be responsible for paying in full.

To be eligible for the TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant, you must:

  • Be classified as a high school junior or senior if enrolling at a two-year or four-year institution (or at least a freshman if enrolling at a TCAT).
  • Complete and submit the grant application online by the deadline.
  • Meet Tennessee Tech’s admissions requirements for dual enrollment.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA for all college courses taken under the grant.

State employee discounts

If a parent or guardian works for the State of Tennessee in a public school, TBR institution or public college or university, they may be eligible for a fee discount that can be applied to dual enrollment tuition. The appropriate discount form must be completed and emailed to financialaid@tntech.edu before the start of your dual enrollment semester. A new form is required each semester to verify continuing employment.

Tennessee Tech employees whose dependent students are enrolled in dual enrollment must submit the TN Tech spouse/dependent discount form.

Discount forms can generally be submitted beginning:

  • Fall semester: July 15
  • Spring semester: November 15
  • Summer semester: April 15

The final deadline to submit discount forms is the last business day of each term. Forms may be submitted in person to the Office of Financial Aid, by email or by fax.

  • In-person: 3rd floor of the Jere Whitson Memorial Building. Hours: 8:00-4:30 Monday through Friday.
  • Email: financialaid@tntech.edu
  • Fax: 931-372-6309

Failure to submit by these methods may result in your discount not being applied by the deadline. For questions about the discount form, reach out to financialaid@tntech.edu or 931-372-3073.

How to pay your balance

If you have remaining charges after grants and discounts are applied, you can:

  • Pay in full through your Eagle Pay account using a credit card or web check.
  • Pay in person with cash or check at the Tennessee Tech Business Office in Derryberry Hall.

Students can access Eagle Pay through Tech Express. If a parent will be paying online, the student must set them up as an authorized user.

To add an authorized user:

  1. Log in to Eagle Pay and go to “My Profile.”
  2. Select “Authorized Users,” then “Add Authorized User.”
  3. Enter the email address of the authorized user and answer the questions that follow.
  4. Agree to the terms and submit.

The authorized user will receive an email with instructions for logging in and making payments.

To learn more regarding in-person, mail-in, or other payment methods, visit the Bursar website covering payments. For assistance, call 931-372-3311 or email bursar@tntech.edu.

Student information release (FERPA)

College students are protected by federal privacy laws, even if they are still in high school. Once you enroll in a postsecondary institution, your educational records belong to you.

To allow Tennessee Tech to share information about your account, registration or records with parents or others, you must complete the Student Information Release section in your Intent to Attend form. You may list multiple individuals. If someone is not listed, Tennessee Tech will not be able to share your information with them, even if they are a parent or guardian.
