What is Experiential Education? ›
Experiential Education as any activity designed to assist students in building workplace related skills and experiences. The Center for Career Development defines experiential education for the purpose of assessing the scope of practical learning that occurs each semester at Tennessee Tech for undergraduate students. Examples of experiential education activities:
- cooperative education,
- for credit internships (paid or unpaid),
- not for credit internships (paid or unpaid),
- campus employment within a University Academic Scholarship service hours and Federal Work Study assignment,
- campus employment as a student worker within a department (non UAS or Federal work study associated position),
- practicums,
- student teaching and observing,
- residencies,
- clinicals,
- study and/or intern abroad, and
- certain service-learning activities (including Oakley STEM and Rural Reimagined)
