Bio

Dr. Edwin Baidoo is a data scientist with a focus on the finance, credit, and insurance space. His research uses tools in data science to study credit and lending models. Specifically, he design models that maximize profit – called profit scoring. He also looks at the same paradigm from a utility-based approach, borrowing heavily from finance. At Tech, he teaches Business Analytics, Advanced Business Analytics with Python, R and a capstone class. He is also a co-PI at the iCube Innovation Center, where we partner with the State of Tennessee Department of Health to study and understand trends in road safety accidents. His research interests are broad and include Finance, Mathematics, Economics and Actuarial Science. His research has been published in the Journal of Finance and Journal of Experimental and Behavioral Finance. He is always excited to work with anyone – especially on a topic that is new to him. He loves learning new things.
