Dr. Christen's Ph. D is from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a focus on Computer-Mediated Communication. 

He is the Director of Communication Studies at Tennessee Technological University. He teaches several communication courses that focus on Computer-Mediated Communication or Business/Organizational Communication.

His research interests are Instructional Communication and Computer-Mediated Communication.
