It is a broad discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure. Examples include buildings, roads, airports, railroads, bridges, water and wastewater treatment plants, landfills, dams and canals. Civil and environmental engineering solves society’s core problems on a daily basis.
At Tennessee Tech, our focus is on transportation engineering, construction materials, environmental engineering, water resources, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering and structural mechanics. Participation in student organizations, co-ops, and internships offer many opportunities for gaining valuable experience in the civil and environmental engineering field.
