Power. Connect. Innovate.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineers create the technologies and systems behind the modern world — from power and electronics to communications, automation, intelligent machines and next-generation vehicles.
At Tennessee Tech, you’ll build a strong engineering foundation while learning to design, develop and test technologies that solve real-world problems.
Build a career in power and energy systems, automation, manufacturing, electric and autonomous vehicles, energy storage and other advanced technologies.
Our grads work for TVA, DENSO, Eastman Chemical, Northrup Grumman, ATC Automation, and more.
The department also has a computer engineering degree program, with an optional concentration in hardware and system security.
Program of Study
B.S. Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineering is a dynamic field focused on designing, developing and testing electrical and electronic systems, from cell phones and microprocessor systems to solar micro grids, automotive controllers and intelligent robots.
You’ll develop expertise in circuits, electronics, digital systems and engineering design while exploring applications in areas such as energy, communications, automation and intelligent systems.
Optional concentrations to further specialize include:
Mechatronics Concentration
Combine mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering to design and control advanced systems. You’ll explore technologies in robotics, manufacturing and automation, intelligent machines, and modern product design.
Vehicle Engineering Concentration
Explore the electronics, controls, safety systems, and communicationsystems behind modern transportation. You’ll prepare to work with technologies including electric and hybrid vehicles and connected and autonomous systems, with the world’s largest automotive companies located here in Tennessee.
