Louis Johnson Outstanding Alumni Award

Named after beloved dean, Dr. Louis Johnson, the award, established in 1980 recognizes outstanding contributions to business and society by graduates of the College of Business at Tennessee Tech University. The award honors special achievements an alumnus has accomplished in his/her profession or for participation in civic, cultural, educational, political, or other activities worthwhile to society. Nominations may be submitted by any member of the College of Business Advisory Board or by a College of Business alumnus.

Selection Criteria

  1. The recipient must be a graduate of the College of Business at Tennessee Tech University.
  2. The recipient must demonstrate a record of leadership in business or a business-related profession.
  3. The recipient should have evidence of significant involvement in civic, cultural, educational, political, or other activities worthwhile to society.
  4. From time to time special awards will also be given to a College of Business alumnus recognizing special achievements in his/her profession or for his/her participation in civic, cultural, educational, political, or other activities worthwhile to society.

Outstanding Business Leadership Award

Established by alumni in the College of Business in 1980, the award recognizes an individual, organization, or company for outstanding contributions and achievements in industry and the community. Nominees should have a record of leadership and significant support for civic, cultural, educational, or other activities worthwhile to society.

Selection Criteria

  1. Nominees (individuals and organizations) should have a record of leadership with significant contributions to business/industry.
  2. Nominees (individuals and organizations) should have a record of significant support for civic, cultural, educational, or other endeavors worthwhile to society.
