Hollister Herbarium (HTTU)
The Paul L. Hollister Herbarium at TN Tech is involved in education,
research, and conservation. We acquire and maintain a collection of
pressed and mounted plant specimens with emphasis on the flora of the
Cumberland Plateau and to a lesser extent the flora of southeastern
United States.
The herbarium provides resources for those
interested in botany, ecology, floristics, ethnobotany, systematics, and
wetland management. The herbarium supports both undergraduate and
graduate research in botany at TN Tech. We actively participate in locating
and documenting state and federal listed threatened and endangered
species. We are also a resource for the community, offering tours and
other educational opportunities.
HTTU is part of the Tennessee Herbarium Consortium and actively contributes our specimen data to the Southeast Regional Network of Expertise and Collections (SERNEC). You can search our databased and imaged specimens by clicking here: HTTU Herbarium Database.
