Bring Your Own Device
The Department of Communication, within the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, strives to ensure that its students are fully prepared to enter the professional world, including having a competence in the technology required in the field. Since students are engaged in projects and assignments that require continuous access to technology:
- All students are required to have an entry-level (primary) portable computing device (laptop).
- Secondary computing devices like tablets can be used, but they are not considered primary computing devices.
Laptop Minimum Specifications
Mac (2018 or newer)
- Processor: Intel-based Core i-Series
- Operating System: OSX 10.9 or higher
- Screen size: 11 inch or higher
- RAM: 8GB or higher
- Storage: 250gb or higher
- Webcam and microphone
Hardware
Free & Reduced Software
- Free Microsoft Office & Windows Operating Systems (TTU login and password required)
- Reduced Adobe Creative Cloud Software (TTU login and password required)
Financial Aid for Technology
Available financial aid for the amount of up to $2,000 can be used towards the purchase of a computing device with necessary software.
