Brightwheel is used by the CDL to keep families connected to their child’s day. See below for information and common features used by parents.

Communications & Updates
Messaging with Teachers
- Send and receive messages directly with teachers and CDL staff
- Primary communication method for updates and questions
Daily Activity Updates
View updates for younger children including:
- Meals/snacks
- Bottles (infants)
- Diaper changes / bathroom visits
- Nap times / activities and notes
Photos & Videos
Notifications are sent when new content is posted.
Parents can view photos and videos throughout the day.
Downloading Photos & Videos
Before your child leaves the CDL, download all photos/videos to ensure you keep access. How to download photos:
- Open your child’s profile
- Select “Gallery”
- Download individual photos or use bulk download on the mobile app
Billing & Payments
Payments are managed through
Tennessee Tech epay.
Parents will be able to view invoices, balances, and payment history in Brightwheel; tax statements are available.

Contacts & Access
Parent - Full access (messages, billing, profile updates)
- Family - Can view updates and send messages. Limited editing access
- Approved Pick up - Can pick up/drop off only with no access to child information
- Emergency Contact - Used only for emergencies with no Brightwheel access

How do I message my child’s teacher?
Use the messaging feature in your child’s profile.
Why don’t I see my child in Brightwheel?
Make sure you used the same email/phone provided to CDL. Check with the office staff to ensure what email address is tied to your child’s profile.
Can I add or remove pickup contacts?
Yes - update the Contacts section and notify CDL of changes.
Where do I find photos?
Go to your child’s profile → Gallery.
How do I download photos?
Use the mobile app Gallery for bulk download.
Do I need to check my child in/out?
Yes, depending on classroom procedures.
Where do I see billing info?
In the Brightwheel billing section.
