Adding an Endorsement Through Coursework

Some endorsements require additional coursework.

Please follow the steps below to begin the process of adding an endorsement to your current license.

STEP 1 / Complete the Program of Study Form

Complete a Program of Study/Transcript Analysis Request

This document provides the candidate information about the number of courses required to add a specific endorsement.

STEP 2 / Optional Graduate Degree

It is possible for candidates to pursue a higher degree along with the endorsement. Candidates need to decide if they are interested in seeking a Master of Arts (M.A.) or Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree.

STEP 3 / Apply for Admission to Tech

Submit an online admission application to Tennessee Tech and obtain full admission status (please note the application deadlines). Candidates will be given a student ID number, referred to as a "T" number, upon admission.

Please designate your desired program as the following:
undergraduate, teacher certificate, non-degree.

Undergraduate Admissions

GRADUATES...

Please DO NOT SUBMIT an application to the College of Graduate Studies, until you have confirmed your program with Elora Davis, eldavis@tntech.edu.

Graduate Admissions

STEP 4 / Complete Coursework

Candidates must successfully complete all required coursework for the endorsement.

STEP 5 / Pass Praxis Exams

Candidates must pass all required Praxis exams required for the endorsement.

STEP 6 / Contact Mr. Ethan Grissom

Once all final grades have been posted and all Praxis exam scores for endorsement coursework can be seen in the candidate's TN Compass Account, contact Mr. Ethan Grissom, egrissom@tntech.edu, for assistance in beginning the application to have the completed endorsement added to the candidate's current teaching license.
