Job-Embedded Pathway to Teacher Licensure

The Job-Embedded pathway at Tennessee Tech allows individuals who have not completed a traditional educator preparation program, but possess at least a baccalaureate (undergraduate) degree, to be hired on a Practitioner’s License while completing the coursework and requirements for the Professional Licensure over a three-year period.

We offer the following Job-Embedded Practitioner licensure subjects available through the Master of Arts degree program.

Elementary Education (K-5)
Integrated Early Childhood Education (PreK-3)
Library Science (PreK-12)
Middle School Math (6-8)
Physical Education/Health (K-12)

Secondary Education Biology (6-12)
Secondary Education Chemistry (6-12)
Secondary Education Math (6-12)
Secondary Education English (6-12)
Secondary Education History (6-12)
Special Education/Interventionist (K-8) 
Special Education/Interventionist (6-12)
Special Education/Comprehensive (K-12)

Candidates pursuing a Job-Embedded Practitioner license may receive an initial Tennessee teaching license in the following areas, but a higher degree is not required.

English as a Second Language (K-12)
