Admission Requirements to the Teacher Education Program for Graduate (Post-Baccalaureate) Students

The Office of Teacher Education (OTE) facilitates the process of obtaining a teacher license and requires a separate admission process from the university.


Prior to admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP), all candidates must be admitted to Tennessee Tech through the College of Graduate Studies. Please click below to apply for admission:

Post-Baccalaureate/Graduate Teacher Education candidates should begin and complete the steps below during their first enrolled semester. Note: TEP Admission is a prerequisite to enroll in most of the courses outlined in your Program of Study.

Complete these two (2) forms:

Background Check Privacy Rights Form   
VECHS Background Check Waiver Agreement Form

The two (2) forms above require a physical signature.

Step 3 / Complete & Submit the Interview Request Form

Complete the Interview Request Form

Step 4 / Complete & Submit the Disposition Process Form

Disposition Self-Assessment & Request Form

NOTE: You must list two instructors as "raters". Both must be instructors you have had at the graduate level.
