TLC Testing Notes

2025-2026: Testing usage continues to grow and has expanded the types of exams proctored with the addition of HESI, EC-Council, and ALEKS PPL.

2024-2025: Testing continues to grow in almost every category; only ACCUPLACER and major field testing were lower than the previous year, and there were a bit fewer unique professors and test takers this year.

2023-2024: Total exams proctored and total hours both almost doubled this year compared to last year. Standardized tests increased but the largest growth was in Tech course exams. Over half of the student body used TLC Testing this year. Satisfaction remains high. This year faculty who used TLC Testing completed a survey to help evaluate procedures and make recommendations for changes.

2022-2023: Testing increased again this year in both total exams and total hours. The College of Arts & Sciences began offering their major field test in the TLC, and Tech Course Exams increased again. This year Meazure Learning, a standardized test vendor, approved the TLC as a testing site. Satisfaction remains high.

2021-2022: Testing was back at full capacity, and traffic essentially doubled. Tech Course Exams and CCTST exams increased significantly.

2020-2021: Due to the pandemic, testing operated at reduced capacity the entire year.  However, the TLC still proctored twice as many exams as last year, with the most significant increase in paper/pencil exams.  TLC Testing saw more unique courses, professors, exams, and test-takers this year.

2019-2020: This was the first year of TLC testing beginning in Fall 2019.  Testing was then closed in spring once the university went to completely online classes in March 2020 due to COVID.
