  •  Credit for Prior Learning

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) or Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) may be earned at the undergraduate level through college credit earned in high school (dual credit or AP), credit by exam (CLEP), or relevant work, military, and life experience. Two academic areas also award CPL through review process: the College of Emerging and Integrative Studies (up to 12 credit hours in specific programs) and the Whitson-Hester College of Nursing (credit determined after review). In total, Tennessee Tech awards up to 60 undergraduate credit hours of CPL for eligible students.
