Job Opportunities On Campus

Working On Campus as an International Student

Working on-campus can be a great way to connect with the campus community and build skills. International student on F-1 (student) and J-1 (exchange/visitor) visas can typically work on-campus.

General Guidelines for Working On-Campus

  • You must maintain full-time enrollment and good academic standing in your program.
  • You are limited to 20 hours per week except during official university break periods and the summer.

Starting a New On-Campus Position
When you start a new on-campus job, you must work with your supervisor to complete all of the necessary steps with Human Resources in order to be legal. If this is the first time you have worked in the U.S., you will need to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). We have a guide that will help you with this process at Getting a Social Security Number (SSN).
