Dual Enrollment

Are you ready to start earning college credits while you’re still in high school? Get started today by enrolling in Tennessee Tech’s Dual Enrollment Program! High school students who meet the eligibility requirements can get their college career jump-started by taking select courses, helping them make a smooth transition to Tech to complete their degree.

Admission Requirements

Tennessee Tech is home to an excellent Dual Enrollment Program and has partnerships with the following high schools: Cookeville High School, Oak Ridge High School, Hillsboro High School, John Overton High School, Stratford High School, Oakland High School, Monterey High School, Upperman High School, Clinton County High School, Highland Rim Academy, and Jackson County High School.

If you are a high school administrator and would like to learn more about having a dual enrollment agreement with Tech, please contact the Office of Admissions at (931) 372-3888 or admissions@tntech.edu.

In order to participate in the program, students from these schools must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a 3.0 or higher grade point average
  • Obtain high school counselor approval

Step 1: Submit an Application

Fill out our online application at tntech.edu/apply. If you need to make a change to your existing application, please submit an application update form.

Step 2: Pay Your Application Fee

Before an application can be reviewed for admission, you must submit your $25 non-refundable undergraduate application fee.

There are three options available for paying your application fee:

  • pay at the end of the application
  • pay online at tntech.edu/status
  • pay by mail to: Office of Admissions, Tennessee Tech University, Campus Box 5006, Cookeville, TN 38505-0001

For checks, pay to the order of ‘Tennessee Tech’ and include your name and date of birth on the check memo field. *This is a one-time fee.

Step 3: Required Documents

The following documents are required to be evaluated for admission: 

  • LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: Your high school counselor will provide a letter of recommendation to the Office of Admissions upon request from Tennessee Tech Admissions office.
  • TRANSCRIPTS: For Dual Enrollment only, Tennessee Tech Admissions will request your current transcript from your high school. If you have other college credits, please request those official transcripts be sent once they are complete. High school and college transcripts may be delivered by the following methods:
    • High School: Emailed to transcripts@tntech.edu
    • High School and/or College: Mailed or electronically delivered through an approved transcript delivery vendor (see below). All transcripts must be issued to Tennessee Tech University to be considered official. *Note: Transcripts marked “Issued to Student” and/or hand delivered or faxed are not accepted.
Official transcripts can be mailed to: Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Tennessee Tech University, Campus Box 5006, Cookeville, TN. 38505
Transcripts can also be delivered through an approved electronic transcript vendors such as: National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, Naviance, eScript Safe, Scribs, and JST

 

Before Registration

Dual Enrollment Agreement / Student Release Form: Read and complete the Docusign form ‘Intent to Attend’ / Student Information Release'. It is available here. Upon completion, a copy will be emailed to Admissions for processing. 

TSAC Dual Enrollment Application: Apply for the TSAC dual enrollment grant (this must be done for each term). You can find the application here.

Complete the Health Forms: A parent of the student will complete the following combined health forms (Docusign) prior to registering for classes:

Discount Forms: If a parent is a teacher who works in a public school system in the state of Tennessee, or an employee of Tech, a TBR institution, or any public college or university, the relevant discount form must be completed each term and submitted to financialaid@tntech.edu. These forms can be found here.
