A freshman is a student who will be graduating soon from high school, or has recently graduated, but has not attended college after their high school graduation.
A transfer is a student who has completed college credit after graduating from high school. Transfers who have completed less than 24 transferable hours are also evaluated by freshman admission requirements.
Any student who has completed coursework at Tennessee Tech in the past and wishes to return is considered a readmission student.
If you want to take a class for personal enrichment, take a pre-requisite for a graduate program, pursue an add-on endorsement for a teaching license, or earn a craft certificate, you are a non-degree seeking student.
High School Programs
High school programs refer to dual enrollment, joint enrollment, or early admission programs in which students currently in high school can pursue college credit.
If you are a new freshman over the age of 21, looking to complete your degree, wishing to take a completely or partially online program, or over the age of 65, you may be an adult non-traditional student.
