Do I need to take the GMAT or GRE? › 

Standardized test scores are not required for admission to a certificate program. Our admission review committee considers professional work experience, graduate, and undergraduate education in assessing a candidate's eligibility for admission. Students who have applied with a 3.0 GPA overall, and in their major fully meet the requirements for admission. 

What are the requirements to pursue a professional certificate? › 

Students who are interested in pursuing a certificate must meet all of the admissions requirements of the MBA program. Students should indicate on the application that they are interested in the industry-immersed certificate program by checking the appropriate box.

What is the difference between a Tennessee Tech certificate and a certification from a professional organization or company? ›

A certificate from Tennessee Tech is a formal recognition that you have acquired educational knowledge in a certain professional industry within the world of business.  Tennessee Tech certificates often take less time to earn than a professional certification and come with the endorsement of a public degree-granting university. Certification from an organization often focuses solely on the technical skills needed for a specific professional role and certifies that have the ability to perform that position.  

What are the benefits of pursuing a certificate? ›

The industry-focused graduate certificates are designed specifically with working professionals in mind. Each certificate is designed to be flexible, affordable, and convenient. All certificates are available 100% online with no pre-requisite courses required. the industry-focused certificates allow students to further specialize in their fields. Certificates may be obtained prior to, concurrently, or following an MBA or MAcc degree.

How many courses are in an industry-focused certificate? ›

Each certificate consists of five courses (15 total hours).  Two of the courses (6 credit hours) may count toward MBA elective credit, leaving only three courses (9 hours) to complete after the MBA or MAcc programs.

Do I have to pursue an MBA or MAcc to earn a certificate? ›

Students may pursue a graduate certificate through the College of Business at Tennessee Tech before, after, separately, or concurrently with an MBA or MAcc degree.
