Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM)
The Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) is a nonprofit organization that
aims to promote the scientific study of the principles governing organized efforts
in industrial and economic life through the study and application of management theory
and practice. All students interested in leadership or business management are encouraged
to join SAM. The club supports professional development of its members with guest
lectures, fund-raisers, social events, and community service. In the spring, members
will also have the opportunity to attend the SAM International Conference and compete
in the case competition.
Beta Gamma Sigma
Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited
schools. Inducted as students, BGS members go on to serve in critical leadership roles
in corporate, entrepreneurial, government, non-profit, and academic sectors. Members
currently reside in all 50 U. S. states and more than 190 countries. Membership in
this organization represents national recognition of scholastic achievement. Membership
is by selection and invitation, and those eligible include students who rank in the
upper 7% of the junior class, the upper 10% of the senior class, and the upper 20%
of the graduate class. Induction is in the spring semester in which students are recognized
at an annual induction ceremony and banquet.
College of Business Leadership Retreat
The TTU College of Business is dedicated to helping students grow both inside and
outside of the classroom! Our COB Leadership Retreat allows students to develop and
foster leadership skills alongside their peers in a fun, new learning environment!
A new retreat theme is picked every year. Past themes include Lead Like a Pirate and
Camp COB: The Search For Bigfoot. The 2024 COB Leadership theme is Leadership on Tour.
Students always sincerely enjoy this unconventional learning experience away from
