Issues Accessing YuJa Videos

Having issues access videos in your classes?

Getting "Access Denied" or "blocking 3rd party sessions" errors?

Are you seeing either an "Access Denied" error or one that says "It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party sessions cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies."

Watched a video, but it isn't showing in the statistics for the instructor?

Another issue is that you are watching the videos, but the instructor does not see your information in the video analytics. Make sure the Pop-up Blocker is off for the iLearn site.

Using Mac with Safari | iPhone | Microsoft Edge
Pop-up Blockers | Enable 3rd Party Cookies

Using a Mac with Safari

  • Use another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera...)
  • Change your Safari Preferences
    • Go to the Safari menu and select Preferences - Privacy.
    • Make sure the option under Website tracking for Prevent cross-site tracking is is unchecked.
    • Go to your course and click the YuJa Media link.
    • Once you do this, it should allow the cookie and then you can go back and put your setting back to Allow from websites I visit (or other setting you prefer).

If you are using the latest iOS on a mobile device (phone or iPad) you will need to disable Prevent cross-site tracking which is found in the Safari Settings.

You can also get this message in Chrome if it has been specifically set to block third-party cookies previously. Follow the below steps for Chrome:

  • Go to Settings in the 3 dot menu.
  • Go down to the bottom and expand the Advanced section
  • Select Content Settings
  • Select Cookies
  • Toggle off Block third-party cookies.

If you are using iOS 12 that setting is not available in Chrome so you will need to disable “Prevent cross-site tracking” in the Safari settings and use Safari to access the video.

Using an iPhone

If you are using the latest iOS on a mobile device (phone or iPad) you will need to disable Prevent cross-site tracking which is found in the Safari Settings.

You can also get this message in Chrome if it has been specifically set to block third-party cookies previously. Follow the below steps for Chrome:

  • Go to Settings in the 3 dot menu.
  • Go down to the bottom and expand the Advanced section
  • Select Content Settings
  • Select Cookies
  • Toggle off Block third-party cookies.

If you are using iOS 12 that setting is not available in Chrome so you will need to disable “Prevent cross-site tracking” in the Safari settings and use Safari to access the Media tools.

Using iOS 13

With the iOS 13, you may experience different 3rd party applications not working correctly. YuJa, the 3rd party media platform we use in iLearn for videos, is currently not accessible using iOS 13 devices. The previous workaround does not work. Our recommendation is to upgrade to the latest version or use a computer to access your videos.

Using Microsoft Edge

  • Select the ... in the upper right.
  • Select Settings
  • Select Privacy and security
  • Choose Basic

Using an Ad Blocker or Pop-up Blocker

Make sure to turn it off for this site to allow for the 3rd party links.

If you have a professor who is using the analytics for the videos to see who has watched the video and you have your pop-up blocker enabled, it may not record your views. Turn off the pop-up blocker for the site and try again.

The pop-up blocker can also prevent a test score from being recorded in a video quiz.

Enable Third-Party Cookies

You can enable third-party cookies specifically for YuJa

Use https://tntech.yuja.com for the URL when enabling in the different browsers.
