ARISE Program
Ambassadors for Rural Innovation & STEM Education
20 incoming freshmen students will be selected to serve as ARISE STEM Ambassadors over the upcoming school year. Ambassadors will be paid $12/ hour throughout the program.
Ambassadors, will attend six one-hour training sessions on topics such as teamwork, interpersonal communication skills, facilitating outreach activities, giving oral presentations, networking, teaching pedagogy, community service, equity/diversity, and university success. The ambassadors will also spend approximately four hours per week in local P-12 classrooms, ideally within their home communities, assisting teachers in delivery of STEM-related lessons. Ambassadors will also spend time throughout the program with industry mentors.
