And Additional Questions? Contact Mia Hagarty at

Each Monday evening starting at 6:30, we will begin with a class to study technique of your chosen instrument with a small group of like instruments. This class will dive into the individual instruments, their specific techniques, learning styles, scales, and tunes! You will get individualized instruction from our teachers while also being able to learn from others in your class.

After a short break, all classes will come together at 7:30 for an hour and play together as a beginner orchestra, learning classical and traditional repertoire for string orchestra (with a couple of more non-traditional tunes thrown in for good measure). This class is taught by String Project director, Mia Hagarty.

At the end of the semester, we will be able to show off what we have learned at the String Project concert in May on the stage in the Bryan Fine Arts building!

Instruments are not provided. We have some suggestions on where to find instruments locally for rent or purchase. Please contact Mia Hagarty ( for more information.

Music, learning materials, and orchestral literature are provided!

Already taking lessons on violin, viola, cello or bass, but would like to join us for just the orchestra portion? No problem! We would love to have you join us! Make sure you choose the 1 Class Per Week option when registering.

1 Class Per Week is only for those individuals already taking lessons outside of String Project. Doing two classes per week is recommended for absolute beginners.
