TLC Tutoring Notes
2025-2026: Each year, tutoring needs vary. There has been an increase in Math and Chemistry appointments, while Nursing appointments have decreased due to a shortage of Nursing tutors. Despite these changes, tutee evaluations continue to reflect a high level of satisfaction.
2024-2025: There were increases in appointments in almost all areas, with bigger leaps in Business, Computer Science/DS, and Engineering.
2023-2024: To save money on student workers and eliminate duplication of effort, TLC Tutoring stopped tutoring subjects this year that are tutored elsewhere on campus. Therefore, TLC stopped tutoring computer science, engineering, English/writing, foreign languages (after Fall 2023), and upper-division math classes. These changes account for the overall decrease in TLC Tutoring appointments. Nursing tutoring increased and chemistry tutoring decreased. Tutee evaluations still indicate high satisfaction.
2022-2023: Tutoring continues to increase back to pre-COVID-19 statistics. The most notable decreases from 2018-2019 are math and engineering tutoring. The most notable increases are physics, chemistry, and biology. Tutee evaluations are still incredibly positive.
2021-2022: The increase from last year is most likely due to relaxed COVID-19 protocols and behaviors. The tutee evaluations continue to be extraordinarily positive.
