Freshman Orientation (SOAR)

Update regarding COVID-19 and Orientation

Tennessee Tech plans to welcome students back to campus this fall, but is continuing to closely monitor the situation regarding COVID-19. At this time, we plan to host on-campus summer orientation programs. Should this change, information will be communicated to admitted students for the summer and fall 2020 academic terms.

Welcome, new Golden Eagle!

We are excited that you've chosen Tennessee Tech! As a new college freshman, you might be asking, "How will I know who my advisor is?", "What classes will I take in the Fall?", "What are my next steps to enroll at Tech?", and a number of others. The Office of New Student & Family Programs has created SOAR (Student Orientation, Advisement, & Registration) for recent high school graduates joining Tech in the fall.

Our SOAR program will help finalize your enrollment for your upcoming fall semester. During the one-day session, we'll provide you information to help with your transition to our campus, review and finalize information about your academic major, share more about Tech's student life, provide resources available to help you succeed, and ease any concerns as you get ready to take flight as a Golden Eagle!
