Pre-Veterinarian Career Track
Veterinarians are trained medical professionals who specialize in the care and treatment of animals. They play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of a wide variety of animals, including pets, livestock, exotic species, and wildlife. Veterinarians diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions in animals, perform surgeries, administer vaccinations, and provide preventive care. They also offer advice to animal owners on topics like nutrition, behavior, and general pet care. Veterinarians work in private veterinary practices, animal hospitals, research institutions, and government agencies, with the goal of ensuring the health and welfare of animals and contributing to public health by preventing the spread of zoonotic diseases.
