TechConnect

Rollout Timeline

TechConnect is a tool that can bring us all closer together to ensure that students have the support they need to be successful here at Tennessee Tech. TechConnect will be gradually phased in for the entire campus community with hopes that many offices will be utilizing the tool beginning Fall 2017.


Here's a look at the various phases and timelines:

  • Beginning of Spring 2017 - Go Live for Student Success Centers and Tutoring.
    • At the beginning of the Spring 2017 semester, students will be able to schedule tutoring appointments as well as advising appointments within the Student Success Centers.
    • Math Emporium will also begin using the tool to track student emporium hours for students enrolled in Math 1000 and Math 1130.
    • Student Success will also utilize TechConnect to reach out to faculty who teach first year courses to obtain pertinent information regarding students' progress via "Progress Reports". Faculty will also be able to report absences using the Progress Report or Record My Class Attendance functionality.
  • During Spring 2017 semester - Enrollment Management and Career Placement (EMCP) will work to add additional offices and/or services to the tool.
    • Office of Teacher Licensure will be among the first student services offices to utilize the tool.
    • Other offices going live this semester may include: Academic Services, Housing, Financial Aid and Student Affairs.
    • Throughout the semester, scheduled sessions for faculty advisors to learn more about the tool will be offered by Advisement & Retention Services.

  • Summer 2017 - Enrollment Management and Career Placement (EMCP) will work to engage all student services offices with TechConnect for a campus-wide implementation.

  • Fall 2017 - Widespread implementation of TechConnect.
    • EMCP will work to engage faculty advisors with the tool, so that more students can make advising appointments online.
