CyberEagles

The CyberEagles student cyber organization is open to all university students with an interest in cyber.  The bi-weekly fall and spring semester meetings host a variety of guest speakers from academia, government, and industry.  These meetings will also have competition teams conducting recaps of recent competitions.

Women in Cybersecurity - Student Chapter

The Women in Cybersecurity Tennessee Tech Student Chapter is the first student chapter in the nation to affiliate with the national Women in Cybersecurity Organization.  Established in 2016, the Tennessee Tech WiCyS student chapter is the first of its kind.  In accordance to the WiCyS mission, the chapter is dedicated to providing women and minorities at Tennessee Tech with opportunities for professional development, career advancement, and networking.

 

Cyber Interest Groups

Capture the Flag Cyber Interest Group

 

CTF

The Capture the Flag (CTF) Cyber Interest Group is focused on a variety of competition formats featuring the solving of cyber challenges providing information artifacts (a.k.a. flags) for points or clues to a final solution.  Their primary competitions are the National Cyber League (NCL) - individual and team, Hivestorm, and InfoSec CTF.

Defense

The Defense Cyber Interest Group is focused on the work of information system protection (hardening) from external threats.  Their primary competitions are the SouthEast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), Hivestorm, and the Department of Energy CyberForce Competition.

Offense

The Offense Cyber Interest Group is focused on the work of information system penetration testing with the goal of identifying weaknesses in establish systems.  Their primary competitions are the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) [Central Region host location] and the Department of Energy CyberForce Competition.
