Eagle Works Challenges return this month with the Design Challenge and your chance at a $1,000 scholarship! This is also a Rural Reimagined event and an opportunity to get involved with the TN Tech Grand Challenge!
Come get a crash course in Design Thinking, a process that can be used for any problem in all parts of life and career! Throughout the evening you’ll work alone or in a team to pick a problem and prototype a solution – this will be a great start to getting ready for the main Eagle Works competition in April! This workshop will help you build problem-solving and teamwork skills while taking you through the five steps of Design Thinking. Can't think of a problem you want to solve? We'll give you some backups at the event! You'll have about two and a half hours to:
- Form your team (you may also work alone, but remember, more people=more ideas!)
- Design and create a representation of your solution
- At 7:30 p.m. all teams will present to judges
- The winning team will get a $1000 scholarship!!!
We’ll be providing food and giveaways, along with all kinds of prototyping materials, from yarn and scissors to markers and posterboard.
The Design Challenge will be at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in the RUC Multipurpose Room (RUC 282). Teams will present their prototypes and ideas to a panel of judges starting at 7:30 p.m.
We hope to see you there!
