RN-to-BSN Program

You are already doing the work. Our RN-to-BSN program is built around that: fully online, with credit for the nursing practice you have already proven, and a plan shaped to the transcript you already have.

What your License Already Earns You

• More than half of the upper-division nursing courses. Through the Tennessee Mobility Act, Tennessee Tech awards credit for more than half of the upper-division nursing coursework to qualifying RN-to-BSN students.
• Most of your general education. Your ASN or AASN coursework typically covers most general education requirements. A few may remain, depending on when and where you earned your degree.
• Credit for experience. You may be eligible for experiential learning credit in the community health and leadership/management nursing courses.

 Because every registered nurse arrives with a different transcript, we review each application individually and build you an individualized curricular plan to the BSN. Nothing is guesswork, and nothing is one-size-fits-all.

What You Will Need to Apply

•  Current RN licensure
• A degree from, or good-standing enrollment in, an accredited ADN, ASN, or AAS nursing program
• A 2.5 nursing GPA — or 3.25 if you are entering the Fast Track to the MSN
• Official transcripts, so we can determine your remaining general education requirements

Already Hold a Bachelor's Degree?

If you are a registered nurse who already holds a bachelor's degree in another field, look at our RN-to-MSN bridge instead — it takes you straight to the master's and works with any of our concentrations.

Going for Your Master's?

If a master's is anywhere in your plans, our Fast Track lets designated graduate courses count toward both your BSN and your MSN, with a 3.25 nursing GPA. Tell your advisor before you register for your first semester — the sequencing only works from the start.
