Supporting Undergraduate Student Persistence And Graduation in STEM Discipline
Are you an academically talented student, passionate about pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, or computing? The SPEAR Program is your opportunity to succeed! Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through its S-STEM program (NSF S-STEM), the SPEAR Program is designed to support students with financial need who aspire to careers in high-demand STEM fields.
What SPEAR Offers
Scholarships
Financial support of up to $15,000 per year, for up to four years, in all majors within the College of Engineering. This additional funding along with other scholarships and grants, helps reduce the overall cost of college and ease the financial burden of earning a degree.

- Supplemental instruction in core courses
- Faculty and peer mentoring

- Summer internships and research opportunities
Community & Belonging
- Cohort-building activities
