All visitors must obtain a temporary permit from University Police in Foundation Hall, 242 E. 10th St. There are two types of visitor permits: Campus Visitor and Official Visitor.
Campus Visitor Permits
These temporary permits allow guests to park in any visitor parking space or in any purple zone space during the times zone parking is enforced (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday when classes are in session). During times when zone parking is not enforced, these permits allow guests to park in any non-designated space on campus. There is no cost for campus visitor permits.
Official Visitor Permits
Official visitor temporary parking permits allow guests to park in any legal, non-designated space in any zone. These permits must be requested and approved by a department administrator. For information on who handles the official visitor permits for your department/academic unit, please call Carrie Harris at x6233.
Fitness Center Visitor Parking
Ten Fitness Center visitor parking spots have been reserved on McGee Boulevard. There is a two-hour limit for these spaces, and they are for the use of visitors to the Fitness Center only. Faculty, Staff, and Students may not park in these spaces at any time.
30-Minute Parking Areas
There are some 30-minute spaces available in front of Derryberry Hall. Parking in these spaces is limited to 30 minutes. Vehicles parked in these spaces are required to display a Tech parking permit (any level, including visitor).
Permit Holders Use of Visitor Parking Prohibited
Visitor parking spaces are reserved for campus visitors only. Vehicles bearing non-visitor university parking permits or operated by Tennessee Tech faculty, staff or students cannot park in these spaces between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
