  • What safety measures are being taken for Preview Day?

Below are some of the precautions being taken to ensure student safety at Preview Day:

    • Three Preview Day events will be held instead of a single event to reduce crowd size and allow for social distancing.
    • Each Preview Day event will have a capped attendance and students will only be allowed to bring a single guest.
    • Each guest will be required to successfully complete a temperature scan before being allowed to enter the arena and attend the remainder of the event.
    • All guests will be required to wear face coverings and strictly adhere to social distancing guidelines.
    • Guests who are unwilling to wear face coverings will not be allowed to participate.
    • Hand sanitation stations will be strategically placed across campus.
    • Messages will be sent to each registered guest the day before each event asking for students or guests who have any illness symptoms to not attend.
    • Preview Day students and guests will be divided into small groups who will remain together for the duration of the event.
    • All guests will be seated individually by ushers during the opening session and lunch to properly distance all attendees.
    • Lunch will happen at different times and in different locations for different groups.
    • Instead of hosting all university programs on the Quad underneath tents, individual colleges will host smaller college fairs/demonstrations in venues across campus where each program can have sufficient space to spread out.
    • Each group will be guided across campus using pre-defined routes to eliminate groups from coming into contact one with another as they move from one location to the next.
    • Only a controlled amount of students and guests will be allowed in each small college fair at any given time. The flow of students and their guests will be controlled by tour guides who will direct each group.
    • Social distancing circles and lines will be placed in front of each table/display and across campus wherever students may form a queue or gather around a display.
    • There will be 15 minutes in between each visiting group of students to allow for all surfaces to be sanitized before new people will be allowed in each location.

  • What happens if Preview Day is canceled due to COVID-19?

We will communicate via the email used when registering for Preview Day regarding any cancellations or changes to your registration.

  • How many guests can I bring with me?

We are limiting Preview Day to one (1) guest per student. Preview Day is also limited in size in order to take proper precautions regarding social distancing.

  • What precautions should I take before arriving for Preview Day?

We do ask that you protect the health and safety of our campus community. If you are not feeling well or have recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home and reschedule for a VIP campus visit at a later date.

  • Am I required to wear a face covering during Preview Day?

In accordance with CDC and University guidelines, students and guests participating in Preview Day are required to wear a face covering in all interior public spaces and outside areas where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Disposable face masks will be provided or you may use your personally owned face covering.

  • I do not feel comfortable participating in Preview Day at this time.

We understand that during the COVID-19 pandemic, many students may not feel comfortable in participating in an on-campus event. We do offer other alternatives to allow you to learn more about Tennessee Tech and becoming a Golden Eagle.
