College Town Weekends is a promotion that combines both on-campus and off-campus events into one list so students can easily find weekend activities of interest. Students are encouraged to take advantage of all that Tech and the surrounding community have to offer. After all, Cookeville is Tennessee’s college town!

Purple Palooza

Student Orgs, scan the QR code below for sign-up information. Purple Palooza is an event that is open to the community for kids to safely come out to trick-or-treat and to attend the exhibition basketball games that night. Hooper Eblen Center will be filled with businesses, student groups, Greek life, and TTU Athletics teams to hand out candy.

Cooking on the Square

Cooking on the Square is a lunchtime fundraiser event to benefit Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity. Join us Friday, October 29, 2021, from 11:00-1:30 for some good Cajun food served up by 60+ cook teams on the historic Cookeville, Tennessee Courthouse lawn. $25 presale ticket gets you a hand-made ceramic bowl of your choice, all-you-can-eat gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, etc. Plus bread, drinks and dessert!

Classic Cinema at the Depot - Halloween: White Zombie (1932)

Head over to the Cookeville Depot every Friday night in October as we enjoy a FREE, full-length movie out on the west patio under the stars at the Cookeville Depot. The final movie of October will be Halloween: White Zombie (1932). Bring a chair or blanket to sit on, and we'll pop the popcorn and chill the water and sodas. (Only $1 each!) Movie requests? Bike Ride with a Ranger

Join the Park Ranger on a leisurely bike ride from Cummins Falls State Park to The Boils, located on the Roaring River. The total ride is 11 miles long, rated easy-moderate, and mostly downhill. Wear appropriate attire for a bike ride(close-toed shoes) and possibly swimming attire if interested in swimming once at the Boils in the Roaring River. Registration required.

Visit Dogwood Park for a free family trick or treating event hosted by Hip Cookeville and Cookeville Leisure Services and sponsored by local businesses! Costumed trailblazers are welcome to trick-or-treat booths along the Park Path and enjoy games and other fun activities, including a themed photo opportunity.

Homecoming Parade

This fall, join us for Tech Back In Time: Homecoming Through The Decades! Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community are welcome to celebrate Tech's homecoming and watch the Golden Eagles play. A parade going from Dixie Avenue and throughout campus includes local high school marching bands, community organizations, Tech Greek organizations and the homecoming court. Various college and organization reunions take place this day and Mr. and Ms. Tennessee Tech are crowned.

Football Tailgating

Get your WingsUp before every home football game at 10:30 a.m. in the Kiss FM 98.5 tailgate park! Tailgating is free but spots are limited! Call (931) 372-3861 or email to reserve your tailgate spot. Live music from band Taysed and Confused starting at 10:30 a.m. until the start of the game. Golden Eagle Walk - 11:15 a.m. and Golden Eagle Marching Band - 12:30 p.m.
