Education & Sport Concentrations
The Department of Exercise Science offers a variety of education, sport, and allied health concentrations. Our undergraduate degree program is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and approved by the State of Tennessee.
These degree concentrations allow students to select from an array of professional and pre-professional fields of study.

K-12 Physical Education
Experience cutting-edge courses in exercise science, develop sports skills, integrate technology and exercise, learn instructional strategies and games while you prepare for a successful career doing what you love as a K-12 Physical Educator.
One-year residencies in local school systems are classroom immersion experiences for training future educators.
Fitness & Wellness
Learn about physical wellness strategies for all ages, management and organizational behavior, performance, training, adapted physical activities, and psychology.
Physical Education Practitioner (non-licensure)
This concentration is a non-licensure degree. Practitioners have access to a variety of courses and interactive experiences preparing graduates with a strong foundation and superior skills for an array of careers in physical education. Those include integrating instructional technology, physical fitness, support services, program management, and more.
Exercise Science
The Bachelor's degree concentration in Exercise Science offers majors a solid, marketable foundation in the health sciences. Our wealth of programs and approach to meaningful hands-on experiences provide students a unique, clinical background.
Sport Administration
Hit the field Or, manage it!
Experience courses in sport management and organization, coaching, officiating.
Learn the workings of sports governance, ethics, the psychology of sport, and aspects sports of marketing.
Sport Performance
Pursue excellence with an Exercise Science concentration in Sport Performance. Measure and track athletic performance, recovery time, and skill advancement. Select from careers in professional sports, college programs, and more.
